Steve Lawler exploded onto the dance scene two years ago and was christened as resident ‘Son Of God’. comparisons to the legendary Sasha were soon left behind as Steve created his own definitive style of house and emerged as the undisputed leader of the new dj ‘Brat Pack.’
Steve’s unique blend of progressive beats and uplifting sounds were first discovered during his residency @ Cafe Mambo in Ibiza by superclub Cream, who immediately signed him to their agency. Steve’s reputation soon went before him and it was only a matter of time before world domination beckoned and saw him playing at some of the top venues in the international and UK dj circuit.
Steve’s reputation as one to watch was consolidated by his hugely successful one year residency @ Cream. not one to sit back Steve also gigged extensively at some of the world’s most renowned clubs, including Ministry Of Sound, London and Zouk, singapore. during this time Steve won the respect of dj’s and crowds alike and confirmed his status as a pioneer of house for a new generation.
Not content with establishing himself as a top league dj in the UK and europe, Steve embarked on a 12 state US tour. Highlights of which were an appearance at the Miami Music Conference and Uruguay and Buenos Aires. The amazing US response to his style led to a prestigious monthly residency at Groovejet in Miami.
Like most high caliber dj’s Steve’s musical talents aren’t restricted to the decks. His reputation in the studio is already highly acclaimed and looks set to keep getting better. His portfolio to date already includes work as the other half of ‘Novacane’, a collaboration with ‘Colour System Inc’, assisting ‘Futureshock’ and appearing with ‘Innerself’.
After a promising start there is now no holding Steve back as he continues to raise his profile and status in the scene, establishing himself as the best of the crop of new talent. His recent move to Excession: the agency, who represent Sasha and Nick Warren amongst others, confirms his premier league status. Sasha’s management company balance were also so impressed by his credentials that he was signed on the spot.
Steve’s career keeps surpassing all expectations, and continues to get bigger, better and brighter. Firetrap the brand behind some of the coolest club clothing have already signed him to a lucrative sponsorship deal. The development which best indicates the strength of Steve’s current position is the announcement that ‘Home’ the new flagship club set to open in Leicester Square have signed Steve to a prestigious weekly residency.

Cream discovered steve in 1997 in Ibiza where he was resident at Cafe Mambo. He came onto the Cream agency and the strategy was to take it gradually, and let him develop at a steady pace, but over the last 18months he has been slamming it everywhere he goes at infamous venues like Zouk-Singapore, Boom Boom Rooms – Belfast, The Cross – London, Ministry Of Sound – London, Federation – Blackpool, Tunnel – Glasgow, Potterrow – Edinburgh, The Redbox – Dublin and special Cream events like Who’s Who’s Land – Brussels.
Now the word is out and 1998 saw Steve go global. In the summer he started his mid-weekly residency at Amnesia in Ibiza and BCM in Mallorca, and hopped back on a weekly basis for his saturday night Cream residency in Liverpool. During the winter months of ‘98 the usa saw Steve tour extensively across the mighty states with Cream. Through this, he has acquired a monthly residency at Groovejet in Miami. As well as seeing Steve play the legendary Winter Music Conference, You will see Steve spread his wings to the fashion capital of South America Punte Del Este in Uraguay and Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Ateve is highly regarded by some of the worlds premier dj’s. He represents a new generation of british house dj’s whose dynamic and accomplished style mixed with a lethal combination of passion and elation will win over the most cynical of dance floors. Which probably explains why he was asked to compose an Essential Mix on Radio 1 at christmas along with dance huminaries David Morales and Roger Sanchez.
Steve spends a lot of his spare time in the studio and is one half of Novacane’ producing a deep progressive house sound. Steve has collaborated with Colour System Inc, under the name ‘Shameleon’ and is also producing tracks with a funky house and tribal groove. As if all of this wasn’t enough, steve exercise his technical vinyl wisardry live on stage with ‘Innerself’. All of this will allow him to develop his won musical trademark and put it to the test on the dance floor! when he gets a spare minute he also assists ‘Futureshock’, who has produced notorious remix’s such as ‘Ravenmaize’ and Club 69.
