The Campeonato Abierto Argentino
Winners of the major open championships since 1970

The Argentine Open – or, to give it its full title, the Campeonato Argentino Abierto – is the most prestigious high-goal tournament in the world. It is also one of the oldest, having been founded in 1893, less than twenty years after polo was introduced to the republic. Since 1928 it has been played at Palermo, Buenos Aires and there have been only three breaks in continuity – 1914, 1945 and 1985.
