Capital District Kiwanis Inaugural Polo Classic
The Inaugural Polo Classic was a great success thanks to the Polo Community!

The Inaugural Capital District Kiwanis Polo Classic
raised over $5,000 to help eliminate Iodine Deficiency
Disorder (IDD)in the world's children on Saturday
September 2, 2000.

Thanks to Great Meadow Polo, The Plains, Virginia,
Cox Communications of Northern Virginia, Maggie Bryant's
Tara Foundation, Highline Luxury Automobiles, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Monica Stevenson, and many other individuals and companies the Capital District of Kiwanis International (DE, DC, MD, VA)was able to put on a wonderful event which included a Pee Wee Match, an Inter Collegiate Match,
and an Adult Match.

Lee Stoffregen and the Starlights and Dixie Bones combined
to make the Dinner Dance a trememdous success. The
Silent Auction featured The First Jump, a $35,000 bronze sculpture donated by the artist.

Great Meadow Polo and the Capital District of Kiwanis are
planning the second Capital District Polo Classic
on Saturday, June 9, 2001. Watch Polo Charity Events
for further details.

I would like to personally thank all of the sponsors
polo players, grooms, announcers, and patrons who
helped me make this event a success! Sincerely,
